A Winter Garden Designed to Be Lived In

A Winter Garden Designed to Be Lived In

Our latest project with Spaces for Life Interiors at the ÉTAUDORÉ live-in showroom in Thalwil

After completing the living and dining areas of our live-in showroom in Thalwil, one bright corner kept calling for attention: the winter garden.

Surrounded by large windows and filled with natural light, the space had always had beautiful potential. We imagined it becoming a soft retreat within the home: a place for morning coffee, reading, quiet conversations, or simply enjoying the changing light throughout the day.

To bring this vision to life, we continued our collaboration with Analía Lazzari from Spaces for Life Interiors, the interior design studio behind the wider ÉTAUDORÉ Home project. After transforming the living and dining areas into a warm, elegant and functional live-in showroom, it felt natural to extend the same thoughtful approach into the winter garden.

The starting point: a bright empty canvas

A bright empty canvas, full of potential

The winter garden already had many qualities we loved: generous windows, soft daylight, a wooden floor and a close connection to the garden outside. Yet, it was one of those spaces that can easily remain “in between”: beautiful to look at, but not inviting enough to use every day.

We wanted a calm, comfortable room that would feel like a natural continuation of the living area, while still having its own distinct mood.

From concept to atmosphere

A hand-drawn perspective prepared by the Spaces for Life Interiors studio

At a design meeting in her studio, Analía presented the concept for the winter garden together with detailed floor plans and several layout options. One of the elements we loved was a hand-drawn perspective prepared by her studio, which helped us imagine how the room could feel once all the layers came together.

The proposal brought together soft curtains, a textured rug, sculptural lighting, layered greenery and a compact seating area. The ÉTAUDORÉ pieces would become the foundation of the room, while the styling, plants and textiles would give it warmth.

One of the first important steps was colour. A very subtle green tone was used on the walls and ceiling, creating a soft background that immediately made the space feel more connected to the plants and garden outside.

Slowly bringing the room to life

April 2026: the first pieces arrived, and the room slowly started to find its mood

The transformation happened in layers.

First came the rug and decorative pieces, which started to define the seating area and soften the wooden floor. The large ceramic vases brought height and texture.

At this stage, the winter garden was still very much in progress, but the direction was already clear: natural, calm, warm and full of light.

Then the ÉTAUDORÉ pieces arrived.

The Reuss Sofa immediately gave the room a clear centre. The Cloud Floor Lamp added height and sculpture among the plants.

Installation day

Installation day is always one of the most exciting moments in a project. It is the point where drawings, samples and ideas finally become real.

Once the curtains were in place, the furniture arranged, the plants positioned and the final styling added, the room immediately became softer and more complete.

What had previously been a bright but underused corner became one of the most inviting spaces in the apartment.

The finished winter garden

The finished winter garden: soft, bright and surrounded by greenery

The finished winter garden feels peaceful, bright and deeply connected to nature. Furniture, textiles, plants and light all work together to create a calm retreat within the home.

The large windows remain one of the defining features of the room, but they are now softened by flowing curtains. The greenery gives the space a lush, almost indoor-garden feeling. The wooden Cloud lamps add warmth above and beside the seating area. The Reuss Sofa and Reuss Armchair make the room comfortable enough to use every day, not only to admire from a distance. The Lianna Accent Table adds a delicate, organic detail.

In the evening, the Cloud lamps add a warm, sculptural glow

Lighting became one of the most important elements of the room. During the day, the Cloud lamps add shape and warmth. In the evening, they completely change the mood, creating a soft glow that makes the winter garden feel even more intimate.

The winter garden now connects naturally with the living area of our live-in showroom

This is exactly what we wanted from our live-in showroom: a space where ÉTAUDORÉ pieces can be experienced in a real home, in real light and in real daily life.

The winter garden now feels like a natural continuation of the living and dining areas, but with its own distinct mood: softer, greener and quieter.

A collaboration rooted in trust

With Analía at the Spaces for Life Interiors studio in Wädenswil, where our winter garden concept began to take shape

Working with Analía from Spaces for Life Interiors on the ÉTAUDORÉ Home project has been a very special experience. From our first design meetings in her studio to the installation day in Thalwil, the process felt thoughtful, collaborative and deeply personal.

As a furniture brand founder, it can be difficult to look at your own home with distance. Analía was able to understand both the personal character of the apartment and the essence of ÉTAUDORÉ, then bring them together in a way that feels harmonious, thoughtful and authentic.

The winter garden has become a small retreat within our home, and a beautiful new layer of the ÉTAUDORÉ live-in showroom in Thalwil.
